Revelation 6

Revelation 6:1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.

Chapter 5: He is the Lion and the Lamb

Scroll:  The Scroll of Redemption – the inheritance and the requirements.  It is Christ and it is His life in you.

Chapter 6: Jesus is the Horse and the Rider.  He is coming to open up His life IN you!

What He is doing TO you, or producing IN you

Revelation 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

Horses represent a work, strength, & fearlessness.

Zechariah 6:1-5 And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass. In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses; And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses. Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord? And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.

John 16:14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you.

John 16:15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall show it unto you.

White: Righteousness, holiness, purity, light, illumination

Bow: (Genesis 9) – Rainbow.  Represents covenant

Conquering & to conquer: an ongoing manifestation
"In all points tempted (tested) like as we are, YET WITHOUT SIN." (Hebrews 4:15).
"I saw the heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war. - And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean." (Revelation 19:11, 14).

Revelation 6:3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.

Revelation 6:4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

     Red: Purhoos

Conforming our will to His through FIRE.

"Our God is a consuming fire," (Hebrews 12:29)

"Whose fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly purge His floor; and gather His wheat into the garner; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire." (Matt 3:12).
"Behold the Lord will come WITH FIRE, and with His chariots like a whirlwind, to render His anger with fury, and His rebuke with flames of fire. For BY FIRE and by His sword will the Lord plead with all flesh: and the slain of the Lord shall be many." (Isaiah 66:15-16).
When Adam was expelled from the garden of Eden, God "placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and A FLAMING SWORD which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life." (Genesis 3:24).
"But who may abide the day of His coming? and who shall stand when He appeareth ? For He is like a refiner's fire, and like fuller's soap. And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to the Lord an offering of righteousness." (Malachi 3:2-3).
         Take peace from the earth.

"I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content." (Philippians 4:11).
"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword…….." (Matthew 10:34-36).

Revelation 6:5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.

Revelation 6:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
Jesus reveals Himself as the Author and Finisher of our faith. (Heb. 12:2)

     Black Horse: Sin

Dark Night of the Soul: Dawning of a new day
"And the evening and the morning were the first day." (Genesis 1:5).       "For His anger endureth but a moment; in His favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." (Psalm 30:5).

"The darkness hideth not from Thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to Thee." (Psalm 139:12).

Balances: all have been found weighing in the balance and wanting (Dan. 5:27)

"Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; and all flesh shall see the salvation of the Lord." (Luke 3:5-6).

Barley & Wheat: Jesus was the perfect offering. Satan could find nothing in Him.  Yet he was tempted in all points as us.  He was the penny that purchased us.  We have been bought with a price – (1Cor. 6:20)

Jesus said to Peter, "Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: but I have prayed for thee, that thy faith shall not. " (Luke 22:31-32).

Sifting comes so that all that remains is HIM!

Oil & wine: anointing and Spirit – this cannot be touched nor bought.

He rides within to balance out our need with His sufficiency, our lack with His fullness. "He maketh peace thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of wheat." (Psalm 147:14).

Revelation 6:7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.

Revelation 6:8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

"I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and HAVE THE KEYS OF HELL AND OF DEATH." (Revelation 1:18).
Corinthians I 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Corinthians I 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

Corinthians I 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

Corinthians I 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is by death that death is rendered powerless, and there shall arise a new life-- His. It takes death to destroy death, and thus Christ "did taste death for every man, - that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." (Hebrews 2:9, 14-15)
How clear is the Word Jesus gave, "When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour where in he trusted, and divideth his spoils." (Luke 11:21-22).
" To kill with the sword..." "Out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations." (Revelation 19:15).
"For the Word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword." (Hebrews 4:12). Thank God for this sword which kills-- and yet quickens us anew with His life.
" And with hunger..." Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
"And with the beasts of the earth.. ."  "For Thou, O God, hath proved us……. THOU CAUSED MEN TO RIDE OVER OUR HEADS; we went through fire and through water but Thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place." (Psalm 66:10-12)

Revelation 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

One by one He opens the seals, and fulfills the ministry which furthers that redemptive work in us.

    1. Riding the white horse, conquering, subduing, bringing us into oneness with His will, and to make us holy as He is holy.

    2. Riding the red horse, and using all the fiery trials to purge and purify.

    3. Riding the black horse, bringing balance into our life, healing and building us up, even through the dark night of the soul.

    4. Riding the pale horse, with death and hell at His command, to bring an end to the old creation, that the new Christ life might he fully manifested.

    Now – Fifth Seal

         Five: Number of grace
"In the ages to come He will continue to shew the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus." (Ephesians 2:7).
Altar - Brazen Altar: His blood is our blood through ''fellowship of  His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death." (Philippians 3:10).

Present your body a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God." (Romans 12:1).
Paul said, "I die daily." (1 Corinthians 15:31). Yet, "Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for My sake." (Matthew 5:11).

It takes DAILY GRACE to be a LIVING SACRIFICE, laying down our life, that HIS LIFE might be seen.

Revelation 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

Through our death in Christ, our cry is 'how long'

Through our processings, we learn of grace.
"Who, when He was reviled, reviled not again; when He suffered, He threatened not; but committed Himself to Him that judgeth righteously." (1 Peter 2:23).

"Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34).

          Stephen

Revelation 6:11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

He takes away the filthy rags of our own self-righteousness - "I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, He hath covered me with the robe of righteousness." (Isaiah 61:10). So shall we be "arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints." (Revelation 19:8).

The outward circumstances of our processing vary according to our need, but the

Revelation 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

Jesus declared, "The sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken." (Matthew 24:29).

Revelation 6:13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

     Six: man & labor

     "A great earthquake."

"The day of the Lord... in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." (2 Peter 3:10).
"when He had cried with a loud voice, He yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent." (Matthew 27:50-51). The rending of His own body, the rending of the veil in the temple, the rending of the earth itself .

Two great earthquakes, at His death and at His resurrection, two being the number of witness, God bore a mighty witness that a whole order was being taken away-- "He taketh away the first, that He may establish the second." (Hebrews 10:9).
"make us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. Delivering us from the power of darkness, and translating us into the kingdom of  His dear Son: in whom we have redemption..." (Colossians 1:12-14).

The principalities and powers which held dominion over us shall be cast down. The stars which shone so brightly in our little world shall be no more, for there is a "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ." (2 Corinthians 10:5).

Revelation 6:14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

Revelation 6:15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

Revelation 6:16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

Revelation 6:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?.
"How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished!" (2 Samuel 1:27).
The Word has been clearly spoken, "He hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also the heaven. And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain." Then follows the positive promise that we shall "receive a kingdom which cannot be moved," therefore, "let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear." (Hebrews 12:26-28).
